"The Nineteenth century saw a great Springtime of Nations as the revolutions of 1848 saw new countries created the length and breadth of Europe. In our world today we are now seeing our own Spring Awakening with people and cultures that have long been dormant and subdued asserting their right to exist, their right to dream." Adam Price MP

ST. DAVID'S DAY PARADE IN CARDIFF 2008
We were there! Were YOU there? If not you missed a spectacular event in the making of the history of the nation. Photographs coming shortly....
Last year I was invited to the St. David's day festival in Cardiff by friends of mine who've been setting that up for the last five years or so.I was on the steps carrying St. David's flag, the following day I was invited to the traditional music festival in Porthcawl. Now that I've got in by the back door I will try to explain things because the other day I made a mistake. I think that I know what I am talking about. Although I am Welsh born and bred my children and grandchildren are Breton. I think now that I can say 'we'. We have the North Breton;K.L.T. and we have the South Breton, which is what we term the 'Gwened' with a soft 'G' or 'Vannetais'but there is nothing Irish nor Gaelic within.I repeat, I don't know where you get this from because it is just not true.
I understood that S. beton placemanes are "Q" Celtic which became the Scots/Irish form, and N. Breton placenames are "P" Celtic which is the Brythonic Welsh/Cornish form.
Noswaith dda, Cymry (Good evening, Welsh comrades)! At least it is evening where I am -- Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. I loved the photos of Saint David's Parade in Caerdydd, Cymru (Cardiff, Wales). I am sorry that I missed it. Our local St. Dave's festivites must be modest when compared to yours, but I had fun impersonating the King of the Britons as I often do. I'll appear as that same character (a.k.a. Riothamus or Arthur Uthr Pendragon) in our local St. Patrick's Day Parade in a couple of weeks. The best part of my costume is the shield which I purchased unpainted. My step-mother, Lenore Holt-Willis, is a talented artist. She did a wonderful job of painting the shield; it has Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon) interwoven with a braid-work Celtic cross. Nos da, a Cymru am byth (Good night, and Wales forever)!
