An Historic Win for the SNP

The SNP has won the largest share of the European election vote in Scotland for the first time, beating Labour into second place. The SNP took 29.1% of the vote - a 10 point increase from the 2004 election - ahead of Labour's 20.8%. The Tories took 16.8% and the Lib Dems, 11.5%. The result means the SNP and Labour have returned two MEPs each, with one each for the Tories and Lib Dems.
Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond hailed the result as "historic".

  1. Big difference between the SNP and Plaid.
The pragmatic Scots have abandoned any language considerations and have consequently united Scotland.
Plaid, on the other hand, still insist on promoting a language that has little use in the lives of the Welsh.
The language will always be the greatest cause of division in Wales.
It's the rock that Plaid will continue to perish on.
    Shame really.

  2. A nation without its language is but half a nation

  3. Better half a nation than no nation at all.

  4. Why choose to be half a nation, instead of being a full one?

One should at least be able to understand the spoken word and to be able to read one's own native tongue.

Speaking the language(in a bi-lingual country) isn't nearly important as people may think, in my opinion anyway.
