"The Nineteenth century saw a great Springtime of Nations as the revolutions of 1848 saw new countries created the length and breadth of Europe. In our world today we are now seeing our own Spring Awakening with people and cultures that have long been dormant and subdued asserting their right to exist, their right to dream." Adam Price MP

The Monarchy and the Constitution
According to the blog Tartan Hero the nationalists of Catalunya in Spain are calling for the abolition of the Spanish monarchy. As in Britain constitutional power rests with the government and not with the monarchy. Canada, Australia and New Zealand share Britain's monarchy and the majority of people see no good reason to change that. The nationalists' quarrel here in the U.K. lies not with the monarchy but with the government and the British constitution as established in England. The government therefore should undertake a complete evaluation of the constitution in the light of its contemporary relevance.
