Annexation (Latin ad, to, and nexus, joining) is the legal incorporation of some territory into another geo-political entity (either adjacent or non-contiguous). Usually, it is implied that the territory and population being annexed is the smaller, more peripheral or weaker of the two merging entities. It can also imply a certain measure of coercion, expansionism or unilateralism on the part of the stronger of the merging entities. Because of this, more positive words like political union or reunification are sometimes preferred.
Wales was annexed by England during the reign of Henry VIII, and under the direction of Thomas Cromwell. Henry VIII also dissolved the monasteries, vandalised them and left them in ruins. The monks were either killed or dispersed. This is the legacy of King Henry VIII, who then made himself head of the Church in England. This title remains to this day in the British monarchy.
Wales today, still a nation without full statutory powers, is incorporated with England and together with England and Scotland is incorporated into the Union of Great Britain. Annexation is an act of barbarism and is the ultimate indignity for the nation . Wales calls out for justice and freedom.
Henry the XIII? you mean VIII? Or is this alternatinve history ;)
