Life in a "Free Country"

Thankfully I live in Ireland. Here is what happened to my family in the UK.
The passport is now to be returned following my complaint and seeking help
from two embassies, two government departments and three MPs.

To The Border Agency

Dear Sir /Madam,

I have been informed by my former wife, Ms Maribel Mercader Jones with Philippines passport No. WWO363159, that upon entry to the UK, with valid visa, she was questioned by immigration and they did not believe her story. One of your officers telephoned me at the time  and I explained that she was coming to Ireland with my two sons, Justin and Martin, to live here permanently and that we hoped the family would be reunited here in Ireland. I have already enrolled the children in schools here.
Her present partner accompanied her at the airport and he had intended to come to Ireland with them. She would then return to Spain for a short time to collect the children's belongings and then return to Ireland.
There was no valid reason why her passport should be taken away as she was only in transit to Ireland. These are personal family matters and there should be no interference from the Border Agency. This matter has caused all of us great emotional, as well as financial, distress and I urge you to return Maribel's passport to her so that we can proceed with our arrangements. Perhaps you would also give her assistance to board another flight to Cork to enable the children to be placed in school? If you wish to reply to me you may use my email address: alanindyfed@gmail.com.

Regards,
Alan S. Jones

Thanks to the Philippine Embassy, London for their help and concern.

Hello Alan.
I am sorry to see the troubles your family have had - a disgrace.
The other story about the robbing of the Romanian woman was incredible - 'your money is ours unless you learn English or hire a good lawyer to prove you got it lawfully...'.
Fascism is back with us.
Anyway, will your sons be able to come over now or what?
I hope things work out, hopefully talk soon.
Sam,
Bantry SF.
